| Introduction to our visit of July 06 Following their recent visit to El Salvador Mike and Sue Quantick have prepared the following report for your interest, information, consideration and where appropriate your action and support. | |
| San Pedro By way of introduction Nidia explained that in all El Cordero de Dios were doing at San Pedro they wanted to see Jesus in the community, she then went on to outline the various projects in which the church were currently involved. |  |
| Student’s sponsorship They restated the problems when children grow up and want to attend university. Most families in the church would find it very difficult if not impossible to support them fully financially. | |
| Church building They say that they have realised that they are not in a position to proceed with the plans for the new permanent church building at this stage. Maybe in five years will they will start the new building. They have started to save some money but have had to pay taxes and professional fees and are still praying. This year they decided to build a transitory/temporary temple, not a formal temple. | |
| Youth in the church A new music group has recently been formed. | |
| Ministry for married people They have recently started a new ministry for married couples. | |
| Pastoral Salary They indicated that they were concerned that the pastor’s salary had been just $148 per month for many years. Tito had other work to help support the family but they were now expecting more and more of him | |
| Goals and objectives To consolidate their community of faith, be strong in the community of San Pedro, and pray for the building of the new church. | |
| Mission Team 2007 We discussed the possibility for a number of elements for the Mission Team planned for 2007. From the outset we said we needed to evaluate the possible effectiveness of each element, what could be achieved in a 2/3 week period and if the involvement of a team from the UK would be of real benefit to the church. | |
| Church website El Cordero were very interested to see the church website and several are keen to provide more information that could be included. | |
