Hi, I was born in Trieste, Italy in 1951, my Dad, from Belfast, N. Ireland, was serving in the British Army there and my Mum was a local girl from Trieste. I was the middle child of three boys.
After living in Italy, Egypt, England and Ghana I went to boarding school in southern Ireland for six years.
When I was fifteen I joined the British Army as an apprentice and served for 38 years, retiring in 2005.
Lindsey and I were married in 1974 and we have three grown up children Rachel, Lisa and Matthew.
I enjoyed a very active sporting life, squash, badminton and hockey being the major interests and now spend my days as a househusband and volunteer at Didcot Baptist Church where, together with the other Elders, I am a Trustee with specific responsibility for the spiritual oversight of the Church.
