Emergency Foodbank

An Emergency Foodbank is a practical, community based project aimed at providing short term relief by giving food to people in crisis in our local area.

Referrals can be made by any statutory or voluntary agency who has registered with the Didcot Emergency Foodbank. They will be issued with vouchers which they can then give to any individual or family in Didcot who find themselves unable to purchase food due to crisis.

The Foodbank is is situated in the Lower Broadway and is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am to 1pm.

Agencies can also hold a food box if they choose for such times when the foodbank may not be open.

As well as registering to refer to the Foodbank you may also like to collect items of food to donate to the Foodbank.  It would be good to have someone from each church and work place to organise food collections – a list of specific food items required is available to download here and details of current stock needed can be found hereThe food can be dropped off at Didcot Baptist Church during open hours, or at the Foodbank between 11.00am and 1.00pm on Tuesday and Friday (at 116 Broadway, accessed via the small car park at the rear of "No Two Things" and the "TRAIN" building).

We continue to need volunteers to staff the Foodbank.  If you would like to give out vouchers, hold an 'emergency hamper', collect food or volunteer then please get in touch.

We hope you will be able to get involved.
